Dr. Jean Williams-Woodward is an Associate Professor and Extension Plant Pathologist at the University of Georgia. Dr. Woodward came to UGA in December 1995 after receiving her B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, and Ph.D. in plant pathology from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul. She currently has statewide responsibility for developing educational programs on plant diseases and their control in commercial greenhouse and nursery ornamental production, as well as forestry and Christmas tree plantations. She also works closely with University of Georgia Extension Plant Pathology Plant Disease Clinic in Athens and is responsible for formulating disease management recommendations for commercial ornamental and forestry samples. Woodward works closely with county extension agents and the green industry in Georgia and has presented numerous talks throughout the Southeast on disease identification and management. In addition, she also teaches several courses at UGA including Ornamental Pest Management and Clinical Plant Pathology.
