Jeff Lewis is Director of The State Botanical Garden of Georgia and Professor of Horticulture at the University of Georgia. Prior to becoming Director, Dr. Lewis was a Floriculture Specialist with the UGA Cooperative Extension Service. Before moving to Georgia, he was on the horticulture faculty at Clemson University and Virginia Tech. He has held teaching, research, public service, and administrative appointments and has authored numerous scientific articles, Extension publications, trade journal and popular press articles. A member of various advisory committees, honorary and professional societies, he is a past President of the Southern Region American Society for Horticultural Science and the Georgia Horticultural Society, and presently serves as Regional Coordinator for the American Public Gardens Association, Trustee for the Cherokee Garden Library at the Atlanta History Center, and Vice President of the Southern Garden History Society.
